A brief history
If you’ve ever felt intimidated walking into a gym, unsure what to do, or like you just don’t fit in — you’re not alone.
At Angel Fitness, we’ve created a space where you can train with confidence, feel supported from day one, and actually enjoy the process of getting stronger and fitter.
Angel Fitness started with a simple goal — to build a different kind of fitness environment.
One that wasn’t intimidating.
One that didn’t leave people feeling lost.
And one where every person felt welcome, regardless of their experience or fitness level.
What began as a passion for movement and helping others has grown into a supportive, community-driven studio in East Sussex.
Today, we help people across Uckfield and East Sussex build strength, improve their fitness and feel more confident through expert coaching and small group personal training.
Our approach combines structure, accountability, and expert guidance — so you’re never left guessing what to do or how to progress.
We're more than just a gym.
We’re a place where:
You’re coached, not left on your own
You’re supported, not judged
You build confidence as well as strength
Whether you’re completely new to fitness or looking to take your training further, we meet you where you are and help you move forward.
What really makes Angel Fitness special is the community.
Our members support each other, celebrate progress together, and create an environment where everyone feels comfortable showing up and giving their best.
It’s not about being perfect — it’s about being consistent and enjoying the journey.

Why we love our mirrors
People assume gym mirrors are about vanity. Ours aren't. They're how I keep an eye on everyone in the room, and how you learn good form and train safely.
But there's more to it than that. The mirror is where you start to notice something shift — not how you look, but how much stronger you're getting, how your technique is sharpening, what your body can actually do. That's the progress that matters here. And it's the progress you can see.
Louise Stillman
With nearly 20 years in fitness, Louise has coached just about every kind of class you can think of. She's qualified in strength training for perimenopause and menopause, strength training for older adults, Pilates, indoor cycling, aerial hoop and pole fitness. Now in her late 40s, everything she does comes back to one idea: helping people feel better in themselves and appreciate their body for what it can do, not what it looks like.
Because that's the shift Louise cares about most. So much of fitness gets tied up in the number on the scales — and that number tells you almost nothing about how strong you're getting, how much steadier your balance is, or how good you feel walking out of a session. Louise encourages everyone who trains with her to step away from the scales and start noticing progress somewhere far more meaningful: the weight that felt impossible last month and doesn't today, the confidence that creeps into the rest of your life, the simple fact of enjoying movement again.
Angel Fitness has offered aerial classes since 2011, and now brings together small group personal training (maximum six people), indoor cycling, and a full range of group exercise classes — a welcoming space built for everyone, whatever your age, size or starting point.
Pole fitness has been part of Louise's story since 2004. She was hesitant at first — talked into a class by her sister ahead of a hen party — but she was hooked almost immediately. Unable to find instructors locally, she started teaching alongside her massage and personal training business, and the popularity of pole quickly took over. She still loves it, and still teaches it, because few things build body confidence and pure joy quite like it. Watching someone who arrived with no confidence at all go on to perform on stage in front of 300 people never gets old.
Louise teaches all levels, from complete beginners to advanced, and mentors instructors from other schools. Though she competed in the past, she chose to pour her energy into her studio rather than the competition circuit — making sure her students get their moment on stage, without the pressure.
Amberlie Collins
Amberlie is a Level 2 General Gymnastics Coach with over 5 years of coaching experience, helping children develop confidence, strength, coordination and a love for gymnastics. Before becoming a coach, Amberlie competed in Acrobatic Gymnastics, which gave her a strong foundation in the sport and inspired her passion for teaching others.
Alongside gymnastics she recently qualified as an Aerial Hoop Instructor for teaching both children and adults. She loves helping people discover what they’re capable of, whether they’re taking their first steps in gymnastics or trying aerial hoop for the first time. She also trains in both aerial hoop and pole fitness herself and I loves to challenge herself while developing new skills.
“My aim is to create fun, supportive and inclusive classes where everyone feels encouraged to grow in confidence, learn something new and enjoy being active.”
